Noel Ruane joined Polaris Partners in 2011 as an Entrepreneur Partner based in Dublin, Ireland. He leads the firm’s European technology investment activities whilst spending significant time in both Boston and the Bay Area.
Noel is the lead investor and Polaris board member with Profitero and Boxever and served on the board of Logentries, which was acquired by Rapid7. Noel is a co-founder of voice AI platform company, Voysis, Polaris’s most recent technology investment, where he is also the Executive Chair. In addition to his Polaris investments, Noel is an active angel investor, advisor and mentor to multiple early stage companies both in Europe and the US. He is also a founding board member of the CoderDojo Foundation – the world’s largest volunteer-led coding community for young people.
Noel previously launched and managed the first and only Dogpatch Labs co-working community outside of North America in Dublin, Ireland and prior to that he created and launched Ireland’s first technology accelerator program, LaunchPad, with the National Digital Research Center.
When based in Palo Alto, CA, Noel founded and was CEO of Brandmail Solutions, the trusted email service behind what is today known as Trusted Dialog and used by Facebook, McDonalds, Toyota and over one hundred of the world’s leading brands.
Earlier in his career, Noel was the Vice President of Business Development for Ireland’s foreign direct investment agency, IDA. Based in Mountain View, CA, Noel was the overseas officer responsible for winning marquee green field investments into Ireland from technology giants, Google, Amazon, Yahoo, Ebay & Paypal.
Noel is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin and Dublin Institute of Technology.
